Cheryl A. Acres, RN, CCM, is the founder and president of Comprehensive Care Management, LLC, bringing over 33 years of nursing experience to her role. In 1998, she earned her certification as a case manager (CCM) and has since specialized in areas such as group health, workers’ compensation, disability management, and long-term acute care. Her expertise includes managing cases involving acquired and traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic illnesses, complex medical and surgical conditions, wound care, oncology, catastrophic injuries, geriatrics, and transplants.
Ms. Acres has been an active member of the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) and its Dallas-Fort Worth chapter since 1998. She has served in various leadership roles, including chapter president, recording secretary, and board member. Notably, she co-chaired the chapter’s spring conferences in 2005 and 2006, with the 2005 conference receiving the National CMSA Award of Excellence for Chapter Conference. Her dedication to the field has been recognized with the DFW CMSA Case Manager of the Year Award in 2006 and an Honorable Mention in the Dorland Health People Awards in 2011.
Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Acres is involved in community education. She has led informative sessions on Medicare Open Enrollment, guiding participants through the complexities of Medicare to make informed decisions about their healthcare coverage.
